b 12 levels

can some one help me for the last 6 years my son has been suffering with chronic fatigue and having read on the forum about it having similar symptoms to b12 deficiency he has had some bloods taken and they show that his b 12 levels are dodgy, i have the problem my self and have three monthly jabs would my son have to do this he is 19 or are there other medications he can take that do the same job he is actually at the min really mad and feels annoyed that it has been missed for all this time
