Geographic tongue is one of the clear visible signs of vitamin B12 deficiency. When it was first spotted for me, it was diagnosed as a fungus. A second Dr in the same surgery diagnosed B12 deficiency and ordered the blood tests a week later.

The problem with my tongue was my first real "visible" indication of Pernicious Anaemia.

I get tongue issues, but its more glossitis as in a red smooth tongue , sometimes with red dots or little blisters. It seems to me to come and go, more folate related and things like pinneapple can bring it out. I inject cyano once ever 2 weeks and folate half a 5mg tablet at the moment, think it may be causing me some problems (was on more and more frequent B12/ folate), will see what bloods say. I can not vote as there is no option for "it comes and goes", nor for glossitis, or for someone injecting far more frequently or using a different form of B12, being on folate tablets and how much etc etc. Marre.
