Both of my parents were diagnosed with PA. Mum is on 2 monthly injections and relatively OK. Dad progressed to dementia and sadly died 14/2/13. Despite my own levels being 'normal' I have some symptoms. Jac.

Well, I didn't know which topic to select, because the PAS has enabled me to self-treat when I need to, but it has also provided me with the knowledge and confidence to convince two doctors to approve of my self-treatment. So I voted that it helped me convince my doctor. We need another option for both, or even all three.

All I know is that I believe my quality of life would be completely worthless without the PAS, if I was still here at all...

Heartfelt thanks to all of you!

All you people on this web site are wonderful. I also love the little arguements because it brings out the real intricacies and complexities of treatment. Now if we could only get a few more Drs to read the numerous case on this web site, I would hope they would also learn more, and we would not have to self medicate.

I am now going down the self treatment route, unfortunately my Doctors no matter what information is available are adamant that they aren't willing to budge and even though I am now walking (previously confined to bed) have taken me off monthly injections and onto three monthly.

This website is a Godsend and at least I know now I am not mad and that everything I had suffered from was not a figment of my imagination, which in its self is reassuring !
